In the initial design plan, only part of the lighting in the Museum of China Customs adopted the KNX system, which was controlled by the wall-mounted KNX switches in the power distribution rooms. The operation and maintenance staff of the museum had to conduct daily inspection and control of the lights, projectors, televisions and other equipment in each power distribution room, which was time-consuming and labor-intensive.

Through the intelligent renovation, the remaining lighting, air conditioners, humidifiers, projectors, and televisions in the museum were connected to devices such as switch modules, serial port controllers, and infrared modules to achieve intelligent control. Moreover, they were connected to the Kanonbus KTS central control platform via a local area network, enabling centralized control and management through the central control computer/iPad. The operation and maintenance personnel only need to manipulate the buttons on the central control computer/iPad for the area scenes, so as to achieve the control of opening the museum, closing the museum, and the energy-saving lamp mode. At the same time, time control was also implemented. The operation and maintenance personnel can adjust the time of scene control according to the visiting hours, which has greatly improved the efficiency.
